I wouldn't be concerned with your 2010.  They replaced my fuel pump 10/09. Since then I have put 13,000 miles on it.  He's been the perfect little preformer.

No manufacturer is without product issues.  What sets them apart from other manufacturers how they resolve the issues and treat thier customers.  I think Mini does an excellent job.

Just FYI.  I received the attached letter a few weeks ago.   Mini is extending the warranty to 120,000 miles / 10 years on High Pressure Fuel Pumps on 07, 08, and 09 Mini S with N14 Turbocharged Engines. The warranty goes with the car which I thought was added bonus.

I was on one the lucky few to get a defective fuel pump I had roughly 200 miles on the vehicle when the failure occurred.   It died right in the middle of Crestwood Blvd in lunch time traffic.   It went from 40 mph to 5 mph in seconds.  The Mini was still getting enough fuel for me to creep to a safe location (abandoned Century Plaza Mall) to call roadside assistance.   The poor little car didn't even have enough juice to drive on to the low boy.    Fortunately MOB had the parts so I had my Car the next day.

MOB did a great job.    They immediately gave me a new loaner car and repaired mine quickly.

ABAN Wrecker Service contracted through Mini Roadside Assistances is very slow. They past me twice, I guess it is hard to see a Mini in an empty mall parking lot in the day time.  They secured the car properly and got me and the car to the dealer safely.  They are just slow, 1.5 hour wait for a 5 mile drive.

This is really not a rant. I was merely inconvenienced a little time due to the fuel pump failure.  However the circumstances were different and this failure occurred on a busy interstate. I could have a wrecked Mini as well.

So ladies and gentlemen if you have this model, and you feel like it's losing power or not get enough fuel when you press the pedal.  Please get it checked out.  My failure was sudden. If I had been more familiar with the car I may have noticed the symptoms before a complete failure.

I'm not sure it would matter to me.  I'm having outpatient surgery on my hand on the 13th and might still not be able to meet up with you guys.  I guess it's up to everyone else.
